The goal is that everyone with reduced sight is reached with an offer of help and follow-up.
Three sight and mastering centres regularly arrange courses where blind and weak-sighted receive help to live with reduced sight.
The courses consist of education in data, daily life activities, Braille, sight training, mobility training, forming, physical activity, and social gatherings.
Norway’s Society for the Blind is engaged with having offers for children and youths, so that they can experience mastering and togetherness. Our own Children and Youths Department organizes activities for this group. All people, despite age have different needs, this includes the weak sighted. Some manage well with reduced sight, others isolate themselves. For many a guide dog can be the rescue. At our guide dog school we breed and educate our own guide dogs.

Norway’s Society for the Blind has a large social commitment both nationally and internationally. It has local teams in all the areas of the county. On the international level the Society for the Blind is engaged in twelve countries with weight on organisation building, eye health, rehabilitation and vocational training.
